Formed at the beginning of 2001 as a solely sub contract laser facility to service the local area, Midtherm Laser has gone from strength to strength.

The company relocated in May 2004 to larger more suitable premises in the heart of the Black Country. Now with the introduction of a second machine, Midtherm is able to support all nationwide enquiries for laser cutting from large and small alike.

While Midtherm Laser moves forward to take a major role in the UK laser cutting industry, the introduction of new staff and facilities along with a programme to invest in new technology are our sign of commitment for the future.

Two Bystronic flat bed lasers now on site offering a maximum machine envelope of 4000 x 2000, one machine at maximum 3kW and the latest edition at 4.4kW. Both machines are serviced by an automatic loading facility's and also overhead cranes.

To support the machines we have the latest cad cam software from Bystronic. Enabling us to import customers drawings from e-mail or from disc, or to construct drawings from customer specifications.

Reverse Engineering

Reverse Engineering and Inspection facilities are available using our new, highly accurate part scanner. This allows us to produce accurate cad files for production from flat blanks and patterns, even cardboard cut-outs.

Bulk storage of cutting gases is located on site, mild steel being offered either oxygen cut or nitrogen cut, whilst stainless steel and aluminium is clean cut with high pressure nitrogen. We also have the facility to cut titanium with Argon leaving very little heat-effected zone at the edges, this is of special interest to the aircraft industry.

A large stock of fast moving materials are always kept ready at hand to service customer needs and within easy reach of all major steel stockholders, supply of most materials on a next day basis is not a problem.

Along with our regular cutting materials such as mild steel, stainless steel (both 304 and 316), we are able to offer aluminium, brass and copper cutting and also a range of non-metallic material cutting.

Collection from our premises is never a problem and we welcome the chance to show old and new customers alike around our facility. We are able to make deliveries nation wide either same day or smaller parts by next day if desired.
